Hi Everyone, I'm new here, and wonder why I'd never stumbled across this forum in my searches before. From what I've seen thus far the community seems awesome, and very helpful. I found the forum searching for info on Taltz. I recently started Humira but more about that later.

I recently turned 40, this month, lol. I was first suspected of having Psoriasis around 28... undiagnosed. Looking back I now think it started back in my early 20's it was slow to progress. Most recently (past 2 years) developing on my knees, elbows, and hands. I couldn't hide it anymore.

I tried multitudes of creams and home remedies. None ever really worked, and never really worked for more than two weeks.

I finally found a derm that seems to care, and he put me on Humira. I've done my loading dose of 2 pens followed by 1 pen 8 days later. In two weeks I begin the normal dosing of 1 pen every two weeks.

I was about to say well thats who I am, but then I would be saying that psoriasis defines me. Which it doesn't... anymore.

So far I'm happy with the results from Humira. More so than any other treatment I've tried.

Hi ya CT nice that you have found us it's with great pleasure that I  Welcome  you to the club.
As you may have seen we are a very friendly group of sufferers, enjoying each other's company ( in the off topic section ) and sharing information on our various treatments and how they are working

I'm glad you have found us though,  and you are now a member of probably the best psoriasis forum on the Internet, we are spam and advert free, and you will never be asked to donate ( I tried once and was politely refused) have a good look around and if you have any questions there is usually someone here with an opinion, but we are all sufferers and not Doctors and what we pass on is from personal experience  Wink

Fred has built a great database of the available treatments and information on the latest developments regarding new drugs in the pipeline.

So make yourself at home , enjoy a good browse , and I hope to see you at sometime in the off topic section for either a chat or maybe a virtual coffee

Good luck with the Humira, it is a good drug and we have many threads here from Humira users

I hope you found information here about Taltz as we have a lot of information on it and a few members on it as well

Jim

Thank you for the warm welcome Jim!!

Re: Taltz I am going to ask my derm about it at my follow up. Of course that depends on the efficacy of the Humira. my follow up is in Novemeber.
So far I'm pleased with the Humira, but the 100% clearance in some patients from Taltz has definitely caught my eye.

Hello CT  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

You haven't stumbled across us before because we don't advertise, we are not money driven and have no share holders or sponsors to keep happy. We also don't go out of our way to promote ourselves as we prefer people such as you to find us through a bit of work on their part. By doing that it means we are attracting genuine people as opposed to spammers and scammers who get thrown out of the door.

I hope the Humira works well for you, and you are welcome to start your own thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis to monitor your journey if you wish.

Regards.

Fred.

Welcome CT , this site is really great as it's populated by inmates that know all about the problem because they have it not some medical person who only works from theory . just have a good look around and you will find all sort of information plus if you want to know anything then just ask and you will get a truthful answer .
