Acitretin and imune system problems

hello my friends. does anyone on acetretin have probs with their immune system I seem to be picking up infections quite often n its getting me down. Linda

Hi Linda I'm not on acetretin but a lot of the drugs lower your immune system, so I'm not sure of the answer. But I eat lots of fruit to get as many vitamins naturally to try to keep my levels up .....

We usually blitz a lot of fruit with ice and milk and enjoy fruit that way ....I don't know if it helps my immune system but it certainly tastes nice and I don't get many infections ...
Hopefully some of the acetretin gang may have some ideas

Did you have your bloods checked recently?
Your counts have to be decent.

It certainly depends on the person to have infections, e.g. where my lymphocytes are on the lower side, I never have infections. So I think it is very personal..

Hi Linda
I've been on it since April and have had one cold which is about average for me. I don't recall reading about anyone with issues. I don't think Acitretin normally lowers your immunity as it works differently to the other non bios. May be worth asking your GP or Dermy if you are concerned.

ive now got an ulcer on my cornea. the pain is just awful got 3 lots of drops hourly which is a right pain in itself. my joints on my right hand giving me some gyp too.

Ooooh Lunda that's not nice I hope it clears up soon .... Do you think it's anything to do with acetretin .... I wouldn't have thought so ... What do the doctors think ?
