buttocks psoriasis

Recently diagnosed with psoriasis of buttocks. had seen family physician for rash and he diagnosed it as a fungal infection. After treating it for two week with very expensive anti fungal cream with no results, made an appointment with dermatologist. He diagnosed it as psoriasis and prescribed a steroidal cream which I could only use for two weeks. it was better but not gone. he then prescribed an antibiotic pill which I took for 10 days. That also helped but it didn't go away. I had about two weeks of releif and it came back. Now I am trying saturating it with apple cider vinegar using cotton balls and taking one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with honey in a cup of hot water. Too soon to tell if this is going to work.

Unfortunately psoriasis can and probably will always come back. It can go into remission, but it's now with you for life so it's all about management.

Good luck with the Vinegar but I've not heard of people keeping it at bay that way for long if at all. Having said that you may as well give it a try.

The most important thing is to be careful with all the scams out there. None of them work and you will end up loosing a lot of money, so I would say stick with your dermatologist.

Hi Salpaul and   to the club you will find lots of genuine information here about the treatment of psoriasis and as Fred has mentioned you would be better talking with a dermatologist if it is psoriasis as it needs managing  

We are a friendly bunch so feel free to join in the threads, and read plenty there's lots to absorb

Browse the threads here and ask questions about the disease there's usually someone who can offer advice , but don't go wasting money in "cures" as there is no such thing...if there was there would be no need for a forum like this

Hi there welcome to the forum, P is a real sod of a problem to have as of yet there is no cure for it. There are lots of people who would love you to believe that they have the cure and take your money. Have you tried moisturising with a good cream or better still virgin coconut oil, I think that you will find that this will be helpful. Have a good look around on the site and ask any questions which will be answered truthfully by people who have the same problem. Do you have a job where you sit down a lot, my back buttocks and the back of my thighs were really bad when I use to drive a lot . Take care Dave

If the steroid cream was clearing it but not quite there, I'm surprised the doc didn't get you to carry on a bit longer, even though steroids do thin the skin long term.

Welcome! I hope you get relief soon. I'm not sure on the "psoriasis of the buttocks" as a diagnosis. I mean I get that is where it's located, mine started on the ears. But know that it's not limited to the area it first appears. It could show up other places for instance and hopefully it won't of course but I thought I'd point that out. Once you get the psoriasis diagnosis, the next thing you learn is that currently there is no cure. It's a lifelong disease that can clear and flare, can reappear in the same place or show up in other places.
