I do notice the veins appear more clearly (noticeable) and seem to be dark like a dark purple.  This is something I have not noticed before.  If the skin is thinning would one see their veins more easily?  I could just be looking more closely than normal or be paranoid.

I would have said yes. If you think of old peoples skin you can see their veins more prominent and as we get older our skin gets thinner.

Does the skin only thin on the area the cream is put on or would it affect areas nearby?  The part where I see the veins is actually not the part that I put the cream on at all, but is next to it, however none gets on this area.  Would the cream cause the skin nearby to thin, or only the skin where the cream is directly applied?  If only the skin that the cream is directly applied onto, then I must just be worrying too much.

I have never seen the veins look this way before though, so perhaps I should discontinue use of the cream and see the derm to see what he says about it.

I have only noticed it where I put the cream inbetween my toes, having said that it does look a slightly bigger area than where I apply it. However this could be because as I walk the cream gets squished around and spreads to areas I didn't put it.

But I think you have answered your own question when you said "I should discontinue use of the cream and see the derm to see what he says about it"

You are obviously and "rightly so" concerned about using such a treatment in a delicate are. There are other creams you could try and personally I would prefer one that doesn't thin the skin. So yes, go and tell your dermatologist you are not happy and want to try something else.

I didn't realize that there are creams that don't thin the skin.  Which ones, do you know?  Wouldn't it make sense for him to have prescribed me that in the first place?

I would start off mildly first and give Virgin Coconut Oil a try. Coconut Oil

Dexeryl would be my next step before then tying Dovonex. I get Dexeryl prescribed here, but you may have to buy it.

*If you do go for Dovonex make sure you don't get Dovobet and read this information first. Dovobet And Dovonex (What's the difference ?)

No doubt there are other creams that don't thin the skin, but the above would be the way I would go for psoriasis on the penis.

Someone else may also know of others.

Fred is right Dovonexis a vitamin d derivative so make sure you get that one because
Dovobet being a strong corticosteroid  will be worse than your cortisone cream

Hello

I've just been reading this thread...I don't understand why they would want you to use anything for a long time on your penis.  It's your penis hun, keep questioning them.
