Now my psoriasis is flaring up again, I was noticing how symmetrical it is.

Symmetrical I have
  • Above my left and right ear.
  • Both armpits.
  • Both undersides of my lower arms.
  • Both thumbnails are lifting.
  • Left and right toenails look the same.
  • Left and right front lower legs are the worse, and look much the same.
  • I suppose you could class as symmetrical, my lips and genital area are both flaring up.

Asymmetrical
  • One small patch on my right torso.
  • My right hand outside upper leg.
  • Right hand toes.

So I would say mostly Symmetrical. Why not have a prod around your psoriasis and vote in the poll above, members can also add more to this thread if they wish.

*Symmetrical = Made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis; showing symmetry.
*Asymmetrical = Having parts that fail to correspond to one another in shape, size, or arrangement; lacking symmetry.

Mine is pretty much completely symmetrical. I think it is to do with the blood and with what they used to call 'heated blood'.

Mine is also symmetrical.  I hit the wrong button on the poll, sorry.  Eyesight sometimes fails me.

This thread got me thinking.  So I looked up some pictures of the lymphatic system, which didn't seem to match the butterfly pattern of facial psoriasis.
Then pictures of the blood supply system.  Well blood vessels are everywhere and would not account for the pattern of facial psorasis ( as a side note I really hate typing this God forsaken word!  Only once have I gotten the spelling right!).

Anyway, the pictures of the facial nerves looks like a good match.  Viruses can travel through nerves.   So maybe psoriasis is viral?

Please see my posts in " Natural Treatments " thread "Diets Do's and Don'ts".  Thank-you!  Smile

I actually hadn't put much though into looking at the pattern, but now that I'm looking, mine is quite symmetrical for the most part.

If I have it behind one ear, the other one flares up soon after. I have it on my both elbows, on and under both breast, and both cheeks and eyelids. I got a new patch on the side of one thigh, and the other one got a patch in almost the exact same spot within a couple of days.

Strangely enough, I normally get a tiny patch on my left eyebrow only, but in the last few days, I also got on on the right eyebrow.

I wonder what it is that causes the patches to be symmetrical like that!

I don't know why, but it looks like most people are the same as 76% of the votes are "Mostly Symmetrical".

Very strange.  Confused

It became very apparent that it was symmetrical, even at an early diagnosis.

The top of both hands. Both elbows. Both knees, shins and waistline. Lower back and stomach.

Screw you, evolution  Spank

Mine has always been mostly symetrical slightly worse on my right side but was always largely knees and elbows. Never thought too much about it.

It's the same for me, symmetrical.   And like most of us i'm not sure why.

I have also noticed that when a small spot appears as sure as eggs are eggs it will come on the opposite side.

I'm not sure about anyone else but for me, if something happens like im worried about anything, then not straight away but a couple of weeks later I have a flare up...the only problem is when it flares it stays that way for months.

i'm pretty much covered in the stuff and it does get me down but it bothers me more that its on the top of my hands. I moisturise that much that they look like I've had them in the deep fat fryer.
