And a belated welcome I see the inmates have been bothering you already Big Grin .
This site is a brilliant idea I'e learned more in the past couple of months about Psoriasis than in all the years I have been under a Dermy. Enjoy!

Hello J

You must think im very ignorant not getting back to you and thanking you for the nice welcome, but if you have see any of my stuff on here, you will see it has took so much help from jiml and Griz just to get to this bit.  lol

You're right about the site though, the people and the stuff they leave me in the shade.

When you get to see your doctor be prepared . Read on here of the different things your doctor can offer it will be basic creams and potions
It could be one of many things he will offer, if you have tried them before without success politely tell him you will take them but you want a referral to a dermatologist
The things you may get offered are to be found here Dovobet And Dovonex (What's the difference ?)
I would read this as it tells you a lot about the creams,

Also have a look at my treatment ( it's not available everywhere  Confused unfortunately
It's a good long term drug and has been brilliant for me for over 4 years
Link here Fumaderm

You are likely to be offered uv treatment first, it's usually 3 times a week at the hospital.
Or they may offer you methotrexate Methotrexate or acetretin Acitretin

If you read up on the various treatments you will be able to talk to your doctor and dermatologist and understand what you are being offered

If you have any questions ask away someone on here will probably  have an answer

I have done dovabet and dovenex...and your right, no difference whatsoever.

Had the UV as well...there was an ointment with that, it made everything purple (of all colours !) so i'm going to look up your Fumaderm.

Thank you so much J Thumb

Look up methotrexate and the biologicals as well .... Be ready and know what you want that may be available. And it might not be fumaderm as it may not be available in your area
