(Tue-19-04-2016, 18:46 PM)Hello Folks Fiftyplus here,   All I want to do is write on the forum, and I\m not sure why I can't?...Anyway I need to get this down before I forget, one of my work mates tried the oates tied up in the sock part of an old pair of tights, you know, and let it in the bath while she soaked, and it worked for her for a little while anyway...I did think long and hard about trying this out considering that she only had a small patch on the top of her foot.  After a couple of weeks it worked and she was so pleased... now here's  the Bug Bear Grizzly ( no pun intended) for me to use this method I would have to bathe in porridge up to my neck...and I have to be honest here, I'm not a lover of sticky, but anything is worth a go.  see you later  Grizzly Bear Wrote: [Image: m0152.gif][Image: m0152.gif]   [Image: m1253.gif]   [Image: m1277.gif] Fiftyplus  [Image: m1253.gif]   [Image: m0152.gif][Image: m0152.gif]

I know what you mean about sticky things Fifty.

I don't think any of us like horrible sticky products that make clothes stick to us or make us feel yukky.

Sent you an informative PM Fifty Thumb

I have myself have never tried bathing in porridge but I have heard of the oats in a stocking trick.
I don't think it matters if you are covered all over or just a few spots the same amount of oats may help
It's worth a go

Failing that my advice would be get your doctor to refer you to a dermatologist , to try to get a long term solution

Hi There Fiftyplus!

Welcome to the psoriasis club forum. I found it a couple of months back myself and have learned so much about various forms of Psoriasis - including the type I suffer from - Plaque.

There's a wealth of information on here  - probably a lot more than is available to any one doctor!

I hope you'll find out what you need to know and feel comfortable here. I've been made to feel very welcome indeed and am comfortable myself.

If you haven't already done so I would advise you take heed of the sensible one and go see your GP and get yourself referred to a specialist Dermatologist.  If it is Psoriasis you have and not some other shorter term skin condition then the sooner treatment commences the better it should be for you.  You don't want to allow it to keep growing.

As for treatment : Porridge oats is a new one for me!  I'm going to have to look that one up! Big Grin

One that helps for me  - that I found out about on here is Raw Coconut oil!  Brilliant stuff.  Not too smelly either and doesn't permanently stain.
Rub it on affected areas rather than cook in it  Thumb

Welcome
Cheers for now

Hi 49 no wait I am a bit behind tonight hello 50+ .
Welcome to the forum, this is the place to be if you have P/PsA as the inmates on here will answer your questions with a truthful answer not just what they have read like most medical staff , just ask anything you want to know but just bare / bear in mind that most on here are barmy but quite safe.
Take care and enjoy yourself ,this site probably has more information about P/PsA than anywhere else in UK.
