Today I made my third visit in 2 months to the doc about a dry cough, and sinus pressure. Previously diagnosed bronchitis, but didn't respond to antibiotic. So, I get a chest x-ray, which led to a TB test.

I go back in 2 days to have it read, but based on my own amateur diagnosis (based of course on internet research), it sure looks positive. I have no other symptoms, in fact I feel pretty good apart from the sinusitis and cough. I been getting these TB tests annually since starting Stelara a year and a half ago, and never had any kind of reaction, now I have at least 25mm of induration across the site.

Has anyone experienced this before -- is there any chance this will resolve over the next two days, and be a negative result?

My next injection is coming up, 5 January, I sure don't want to miss it.

I don't think it's a good idea to judge by what you read, the only sure way to know is your test results.

How long have you been on Stelara as sometimes it can give you some of those symptoms. see this thread: Stelara (ustekinumab)

Also my dermatologist always tells me I should be careful taking antibiotics whilst on Stelara. with the other Bio's you can just stop and restart again but with Stelara being a 3 month shot you are stuck with it.

I would say it's a combination of the above, and you will know soon. but don't worry to much as they are obviously keeping a good eye on things.

I'm sure you will get a good result, keep us informed on how it goes.

well, I been tested for TB several times and never showed a reaction like that, but thankfully it resolved in the 2 days since the injection, so the result is negative.

now I just have to shake this cough.......

Good news mate. Thumb For the cough! try a shot of Bourbon with a spoonful of Honey and a little hot water. For medicinal purposes of course. Rolleyes

That's good news. The last TB test I had the nurse messed it up.

I'm glad your result was negative!

I had quite a bit of problems with sinus and found that nasal drops helped quite a bit with that (also with a cough if it's caused by sinuse drainage, but with yours being a dry cough it's probably not that) but definately ask a doctor for any symptoms you have. I've never been on biologics so don't know what you have to be careful taking.

That post is over 4 years old and Dusty hasn't been online since posting it so I doubt he will see your replies. Whistle
