Good luck with it Dave, it's working wonders for me at the moment.

I'm seeing my doctor today to ask some questions about usage - I'm using only about 15% of the maximum daily dosage at the moment on about 50% of my body. However, I've been given prescriptions for the maximum amount you can use for a 4 week treatment (7 cans), so at this rate it would last me 6 months!! I'm not so sure I can use it like this without a treatment "holiday" but none of the Enstilar documents give a recommended holiday period, and I'm guessing it would depend on usage in any case. So I'm going in armed with a list of questions and hope in my heart s50

I know this isn't a cure, psoriasis is something I will always have, but this is only the second time in 30 years that I have been flake-free (and the first time only lasted a week) so I'm hoping I will be able to keep it under control with Enstilar for a while to come yet.

All the best,

Paul

It's working really well , the three patches of P that seem to be gaining ground towards the 9-10 week period of my Stelara has now after a week on Enstilar are clearing up very well indeed ,just have to see what happens now but I am quite surprised how well it's worked.

That's good Dave. At least you have a backup when the Stelara dip hits.

I found over the years Stelara gradually lost it's efficacy from week 12 down to week 8 sometimes.

Hi I started on Enstilar yesterday, I was wondering if it's normal only a little bit comes out when you spray? When they said it was a mousse I imagined a big blob like with hair mousse or spray cream, but I get a tiny amount which is icy cold and sizzles when it touches the skin lol..

Have you read the instructions about what angle you can spray it ?
It does come out just like you described but it can come out in large amounts. It's almost like spraying your skin with frost which you can then massage into the skin ,I have found that it works well.

Yeah, that sounds about right to me. It goes clear quite quickly and after you've rubbed it in a bit it feels like you've just coated yourself with a slightly thicker version of WD40.

I've been on it for 9 weeks now, and been flake free for the last 8!! The redness is still there but is begining to fade - in some places more than others.

One of my work colleagues asked me if I was sure it wasn't just a tin of spray glue that was sticking the flakes in place Big Grin

They're not a bad bunch here. If fact, apart from the girl I was going out with when I first developed psoriasis dropping me like a ton of bricks, I've found most people I've met have been fine about it. Yes I've had the occasional comment - like the bloke on holiday in Greece who thought I'd been the victim of a rather vicious mosquito attack  Wall   and I did near enough empty a swimming pool in the late 1980's when all the newspapers were describing how to spot somebody with AIDS - but on the whole I've found that people aren't really that bothered. The tricky part was getting to the point where I wasn't that bothered myself!!

It's good you have that attitude, I was never brave enough to bare all in a swimming pool, although it was something I desperately wanted to do.....but I feared getting the reaction you got ....emptying the pool

Until I got clear swimming was a nono....I'm afraid I was never strong enough not to be bothered by what others thought

Just a note that you should be careful:

Quote:
The recommended treatment period is 4 weeks. The daily maximum dose of Enstilar should not exceed 15 g, i.e. one 60 g can should last for at least 4 days. 15 g corresponds to the amount administered from the can if the actuator is fully depressed for approximately one minute. A two-second application delivers approximately 0.5 g. As a guide, 0.5 g of foam should cover an area of skin roughly corresponding to the surface area of an adult hand.

If using other topical products containing calcipotriol in addition to Enstilar, the total dose of all calcipotriol containing products should not exceed 15 g per day.

The total body surface area treated should not exceed 30%.

I'm only pointing it out as some people have got it wrong with Dovobet in the past.
