It's honestly been so long since I've been that I cant remember if it affects it or not I used to go swimming in a private pool and it didn't affect my psoriasis, I never found the chemicals that they use caused me any harm. My daughter used to have a pool and we would use it regularly, but was never brave enough to bare all in a public pool Swimming in the sea was a great help though, but I don't think you will be jumping in the sea at the moment

My local pool will NOT let me swim. They consider my psoriasis patches an open wound.

Swimming in the sea is indeed no problem with psoriasis. As we know salt water is even very good for it.
In a swimming pool, well I don't think it is a problem. But take care if patches are broken. Your skin is still your skin but thicker.

They consider my psoriasis patches an open wound. Sadly I understand this as they are not doctors so have no way of knowing if it would be contagious or not. I guess even if you appeared to just have a rash, it could cause them some concern. I would guess different pools, different rules and some might be willing to accept a doctor's note stating you are not contagious. I am sure there are some pools with no problems at all. We have a small pool, one of those above ground ones so I do get in with the grandkids now and then. Our chemicals aren't as harsh as a public pool but I still like to do a quick shower afterwards to get the chlorine out of my hair and off my skin.
