Yes, that is because I am a not native English speaker... Then sometimes things go wrong  Wall Blush
But of course, it would be a great solution !

Hi Alistair my turn to wish you a welcome  Welcome to the club, I see you have had a good bit of advice already. That's one thing that's freely available here,
I see you say you have been on all the potions and lotions and are just keeping your psoriasis flat, but still there, you say you have been offered Methotrexate ( it's not a drug I like ) but it worked getting my skin clear and progressed me through to the next tier of treatment.... So in my opinion which differs from some, I would give it a try, if after a couple of weeks you find it intolerable, tell the dermatologist and get changed onto something less toxic....... I wouldn't worry unduly about the side effects some manage without any, others find it unpleasant. But if it's monitored by the hospital and your bloods stay within the normal range it shouldn't do any damage.
There are lots of treatments available but it seems you have to fail the first hurdle to get them

Thanks for joining the club, I hope you get a treatment that works for you

Hi Alistair! Yes, I've had it a bit in my ears, also up my nose (stings quite a bit!) but I find hydrocortisone usually works quite well in these places even though it doesn't work that well elsewhere on me.

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

Welcome!

I've also had it covering and inside my ears, no fun at all! I currently am just using coconut oil for my ears and scalp which are my problem areas and it helps by moisturizing. I've used creams in the past which helped a little, but for me I think the coconut oil gave me the same relief. Fred is the one that also told me to try coconut oil. Smile

Good luck!

We all like to share our common experiences to help others. Smile

Oh, about the light treatment, you could do that but, indeed it takes time, it probably will work for your skin, but that is limited for during the treatment, after the treatment psoriasis will come back again. And you must realise that the light is quite 'hard', which means that your skin will grow older in an increased rate. It is like having a very intensive sunbath.

Hey Alistair,

Welcome to the fun house aka the best place to find out all you need to know about Psoriasis.

Like you I was offered light treatment but i never do well with suntans, that and the hospital that does it is a bit of a journey for me, so i started Methotrexate (MTX) about a month, month and a half ago started noticing it fade after the first dose, ever since then its been fading. But yeah the side effects aren't that bad it differs between people so you could take the stuff and get none what so ever, or you could get the whole lot or one or two in between. I will admit i looked at the side effect list and just thought what the f... am i getting into.
