I thought I would start a new thread about issues I am having with my toes. My toes, specifically the ones in the middle cramp or lock up. Anyone who had played a physical sport has probably had experience with cramping. Stretching, drinking water, and light jog normally relieves the cramping within 10 minutes. The issues with my toes is similar but different. They last a lot longer and stretching and keeping hydrated does not work. When cramping is over my toes are typically warm and fuzzy. Anyone else have similar issues? Any ideas to help? I have been taking two celebrex per day (it helps), but honestly it probably not safe to take a high dose for extended periods of time.

Hi Matari,

I sometime have cramps but they more seem to be normal, just in my muscles of e.g. my legs..
I never have had anything you describe, unless you the phenomenon of PsA, that hurts but is no cramp.

I don't have Psa and locking up doesn't happen to me. I do suffer a lot with cramps in my leg muscles. But I'm sure it's just that I don't get enough fluid....and get dehydrated
I always keep some tonic water in the fridge as I'm told the quinine in tonic helps may be worth trying
So Im sorry I cannot really help with your question

I do have occasions (rare) when my toes cramp up, much like you described. Quite uncomfortable. I do not know why though.

I used to have leg cramps really bad (and often) and was put on a calcium supplement. I don't know if it helped or if the cramps started to diminish on their own, but thought I'd throw that out there.

I don't get what I would call cramp in my toes, but if the psoriatic arthritis is bad my toes get very very painful and lock up. This also happens with my fingers, I've had times when my fingers curl into the palms almost to a fist, they get as painful as hell and won't open.

I have a small squidgy ball for exercising my hands, but for my toes I find the best thing is to put my feet up and avoid walking on them for a day or two.

I have never had it like that. But when it was wrong with me, luckily years ago, than my hands/fingers were hurting and I couldn't lift a bottle of wine without letting it slipping through my fingers. But I didn't lock up and i didn't have cramps.

Yes I used to get that. It was like the bottle had soap or oil on it, but mine one day changed to locking up and that is what mostly happens now. Confused
