Just an after thought,  If my GP has recommended Betnovate for the sole of my foot im going to need to be careful then because the skin is already thin.

It's prolonged use that causes the thinning which is why I say dont use it for too long, if it doesn't clear after a few weeks, ask for a referral to a dermatologist who can give you other treatments ( GP s are limited to what they can prescribe )

Betnovate is a strong steroid ointment much the same side effects as are listed for Dovabet  which you can read about here Dovobet And Dovonex (What's the difference ?)

jiml is right about Betnovate, at one time the doctors used to give it out like lollipops, but not any more.  So don't worry mab as long as you use it properly you'll be fine
