Hi everyone, I am new here, but not new to psoriasis. I have been trying to deal with it since 2007. I have tried some medical treatments and lots of home remedies. Yesterday I started on Hemp oil. I am using it on my scalp, arms legs and torso twice a day. In one day I have noticed how the redness is fading some. It has made my skin softer, so I am using it on my face as well, even though I dont not have psoriasis on my face....so far. I am looking forward to what everyone is treating their psoriasis with and how it is helping them. So glad to be here! Clap

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

Welcome Beannie! Glad to hear you have found something that works for you. There is a lot of info here with natural treatments, oral medicines, biologics, etc and you'll find quite a diverse group here in types and severity of arthritis and how we each deal and treat it.

I've found coconut oil (thanks Fred!) has helped me with dealing with mild psoriasis. I also did UV treatments and Acitretin when my psoriasis was out of control. I am not a proponent of any one way to treat psoriasis as we all have to work with what we can do and what we need to do individually.

Look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi Beannie great to  Welcome  you to the club I hope you will enjoy your time here, you will find we are a friendly group of psoriasis sufferers, who share experience of what they find works for them , I have heard of hemp oil being used , but I'm afraid I have always been led by my dermatologists and never used natural treatments
I have been through the gamut of potions and lotions and although they are not good for you in general I found the steroid creams used to give me clearance . I also found UV cleared my skin
I do use coconut oil as a moisturiser it's very effective
I have been on my current treatment  over three years and virtually clear my treatment is not available in your country yet it's called Fumaderm tablets and is very effective
I wish you luck with the hemp oil treatment and hope it clears you and gives a soft skin
I'm glad you found us and look forward to hearing how the treatment progresses
While you are here you should linger a while in the off topic section where you will find some light hearted threads which you are welcome to join in with
Good luck

Hello Beannie  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Yes like Kat said give Coconut Oil a try, I'm not a big fan of the natural approach as whatever I have tried in the past never lasted long and ended up costing a lot of money. But I'm a big fan of Coconut Oil and use it everyday as a moisturiser.

Have a good look around the forum you will find a friendly bunch of people and lot's of post to go through, as a member you can use the search facility to narrow down what you are looking for see here: Using The Search Facility

But just dive on in, you will usually get an answer from someone.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Beannie welcome to the club, try coconut oil it works quite well,I also used it mixed with a tar in a cream on my scalp called Cocosis . Mind you to use coconut oil you have to be a nut proved by looking at the members who use it. As Fred says have a good look around it's full of very knowledgeable people ,ask a question someone will have an answer.

It's because we are not easy to find, the reason being we are the only truly independent psoriasis website. This means we have no Fat Cats advertisers, sponsors, or donators to please, we won't pay to advertise Psoriasis Club even though Google kindly makes us an offer of spend $25 and they will make it up to $100 to push us up the rankings in searches.

We prefer to remain independent and attract people such as yourself, numbers mean nothing to us it's the people that count.

Yes Beanie this is a great little place that Fred has given us all,  its a great platform to discuss our successes and failures with treatments, it is a safe and secure site ,  there are many that record their journeys with their chosen treatments and they are journeys you can follow easily
I'm sure if you are into natural treatments  you will find many ideas here
The forum has a helpers team to assist if you have any difficulties posting or finding things
Just shout and someone will respond

Welcome to psoriasisclub from the other side of the pond.
Yes, also over here in Europe, we have sufferers. Smile And a lot of ways to deal with it, depending on the seriousness of the psoriasis.
