Hello my name is Janet and would like to hello. I have struggled with psoriasis for at least 4 years. I can`t use the common treatments for it because of the damage it does to my kidney. Had to have one removed in 2003 and everything i`ve tried reduces my kidney function. Am looking forward to talking to someone with similar problems and hope for a  treatment besides creams and oils.

Hi Janet and a warm to the psoriasis forum .... I'm sorry you have struggled with your psoriasis for 4 years. You have at least found a good place to talk about your problems with people with similar problems
We are a small but friendly group who are always happy to chat about psoriasis
I'm sorry you have lost a kidney and yes it is important to protect the other one....
My wife has failed kidneys so I know the problems that can cause
Saying that I dont know any members with kidney problems myself but it's always possible
And there's my treatment but I will look at the research on that before I say more ... This little note is just to welcome you and say hello

Welcome Janet , I am sure that you will be able to get some really good info on here and all on here know what problems P and PsA can bring to the table. I always warn new inmates that most of the people on here are a little bit nutty some more than others but you are always welcome and you will always get help if possible.

Hi again  I think I am right in saying the FAEs are not damaging to kidneys if monitored closely
So my treatment may be worth mentioning to your dermatologist and renal specialist.....

With kidney problems it definitely limits your options. I hope you have a good doctor that works with you to find something safe and effective for you. Glad you found this site, it's a great place to ask questions or just chat with others.

Quite difficult having one kidney, so you have to be careful.
I really wonder which medications are not affecting your kidney, that is going to be a search.

Hi Janet,
Psoriasis can be a pain. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of one kidney.you don't mention what common treatments for P. You cannot use.
A simple treatment I have used since shield hood is occlusion, vit-D , light treatment at the derms office, laser & excimer treatments . Sun exposure during the early am late pm. Also lots of non greasy moisturizers. There are many products OTC made for P. Especially used with occlusion will shut down the blood capillary veins feeding the p. Cells.
