Howdy folks!  Glad I found this site. I have to ask;  What is the most ridiculous comment/question your dermatologist said while you there for a P visit?
Years ago, at the end of my visit which took all of three minutes, my then dermatologist said; "whatever you do, don't scratch".  It still makes me laugh today.

Hi Rubydots ( like the name)    to the club im glad you found your way here  or I would just be sitting here with nothing to do.  
I think the strangest thing they ask me is after asking if I'm ok they say shall we have a look at your skin (well that's why I have sat waiting an hour to see you)
I think you have to develop a sense of humour with psoriasis or you would be constantly miserable
Enjoy your time with us in this safe environment with no nasty spam, or pop up ads just friendly people happy to discuss or just chat about psoriasis and what's working or not working .
If you just want to be light hearted I Will look forward too  seeing  you inside the off topic section where there's lots to do

Hi and welcome! I think the oddest thing my dermatologist said (after a follow up of my first visit when he prescribed topicals that didn't help and I was much worse than the first visit) "You shouldn't have to deal with this" I just remember thinking well, I wasn't given much of a choice. His meaning was that he would get me on something stronger that would help but the wording was funny.

Went to derm to ask for the new Excimer laser treatments for p. I was given a routine of weekly hours to come in. I had P. really bad on the bottoms of my feet & hands.

Then the derm started picking at my face telling me that there is a laser treatment to remove all the age spots another laser to remove crows feet, and another laser to give a face lift. OooooooK! Then he sold me $500.00 worth of face creams cleansers and wrinkle erasers. OMG ! What was I thinkin?????

As I was walking out the scheduling office to the elevators, I was thinking I just came in to schedule psoriasis treatments and came out spending hundreds on facial treatments, & thousands on facial laser treatments. Insurance covered the excimer laser treatments for psoriasis. The rest was out of pocket.

By the time I got home I called and cancelled the facial laser wrinkle, laser age spots removal & face lift treatments which were several treatments each and way more money than I thought it was worth.

That was several years ago an I still have those greasy spendy creams.

Found it, it was Quest that started it though it seemed to have run out of steam [Group Specific]

And my answers were:

Don't worry young man it's only a bad case of dandruff it will soon pass.

Take these 6 pills of Methotrexate every week for 6 months and come back if your not cured, next patient please .

Not sure if this qualifies for your question as not being about psoriasis.  

I use to work in a busy plant of 1200 souls.  When I was quite sick with IBS and told medical, that at times I felt like I might faint.  The doctor suggested, that when I felt that way, I should put my head between my knees, to get the circulation back.  I was a truck driver!  

One other time comes to mind.

Months later, since I refused to come into work ( I had lost a lot of weight, quite ill) the company sent me to a shrink.  If I was sane they could legally fire me.  Anyway, the shrink had a nice office and these beautifully framed Rorschach prints (inkblot pictures) up on the wall.  At one point during the conversation he asked me, if I thought I was sane.  I told him "Hey, I'm not the one with dirty pictures on the wall!".  We both had chuckle, and then weeks later I was fired.  So on the bright side I am sane, especially compared to some of the folks on here.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.....and the laughs! I just got word that secukinamub has been approved in the US!! I've been waiting for this med. been following it for a few years. My derm has been pushing others but I declined . I feel confident with this one because it targets our problem child interluken. Has anyone tried it yet? I think it was already approved in Europe and Japan.

You might want to read this post Cosentyx gets FDA approval for psoriasis there are other informative posts in that section as well.  I don't know if anyone else is on it, but looking forward to your updates!!
