Sandra,

My two cents.
I would certainly not go for MTX. The dangers are large. It destroys your lymphocytes and thus can make you vulnerable for PML.

They have put me on it and I quit within two weeks, it was a terrible experience.
I am not too fond of cyclosporin too, I know some people use it, even in the Netherlands a well known society dutchman who is regularly on tv uses it.

About Acetrecin I don't know anything. Still I myself would avoid it.

And they want to put you on it for 6 months !!!! While they probably are already knowing that it won't help anyway.
By the way, MTX does NOTHING for PsA. There is research for that somewhere on the forum.
I would, if unavoidable, use it and go back in two weeks and tell them you became to sick to use it.

You can take with you the knowledge that on a recent seminar in the Netherlands, with the celebration of 10 years of Psoriasis Movement Netherlands (PVN) the new protocols were available.
This protocol has the sequence, first ointments, than Fumarates, than MTX and stuff, than Biologicals. At least it could give you the possibility to first try Fumaderm which gives you much more chance and no illness.

Caroline
