People paid for them privately but now want the Government to pay to put it right. So what I'm saying is yes it's good too look at some natural alternatives, but be VERY VERY careful as the world is full of false promises that will cost you a fortune and could end up making matters worse. Then when your body has been ruined by a quack you will end up talking with a professional in the end in the hope of putting things right, if it's not to late. Scare

That I agree with and it does better explain to me what you were meaning, thanks!

I don't think it's "off topic" so much as it's just concerns we all have to think of. When it comes down to it, the treatment chosen is a personal choice and we can all only hope we've put ourselves in good hands. When the cautions on medications sometimes sound worse than what they are treating, I'm always open to listening with an open mind.

Kelly, thank you for starting this thread as it has opened a good discussion. I hope your visit goes well.

Anyone ever heard of Terry Wahls?

She is a professor internal diseases who has MS herself. She was going down very quickly despite all treatments.
It seems that a substance called zonuline opens "gates" between the intestine cells and the cells in the blood brain barrier. Zonuline is made by our bodies in reaction to diseases like MS, diabetes, schizophrenics, lupes, rheuma, breast and lung cancer.

Terry decided, as there was nothing else to go to anymore, to change her diet and prevent all food that is known to "open" these "gates" longer than normal. These foods are in the categories of wheat and dairy from the cows like milk etc.

Within one year she was able to leave her wheelchair and transform to a fully functional woman.
She has written a book about it, the Wahls protocol.
Her protocol of living is not supported by the normal medical profession (haha, who would expect otherwise, I have seen this before) and by patients organizations, but it is totally without any risk.

I refer to this as we know that also for psoriasis there are diets that seem to be able to fully control all negative aspects of our disease.
I have put this in this thread as mrs Whals uses the medical practitioners approach.

I am very leery of people (scammers) promising results that may bring them money and the person seeking them no relief. The problem is that their isn't the regulation involved in a lot of people offering alternatives. Sometimes it takes someone willing to step outside the box to find other solutions. I'm not that person, but I can understand why some people want to seek opinions other than their doctors.

Very true Kat.
I have the tendency to step out of the box very regularly. You can call that stubbornness, but I don't mind. Perhaps there is more under the sun than we can see.
I've also been to a practice of bio resonance. Very interesting, even paid for by the insurance, all kinds of certifications and of qualifications.
It was a beautiful practice, luxury overall.
I told them my problems, and the guy I was dealing with, no doctor but a bio resonance specialist, understood and was convinced it was no problem at all solving it.
He told me to lie down on a couch, where there was some simple electronic equipment, and I had to hold two large copper spheres in my hands that were connected with wires to that equipment. That was all. I had to lie there for about twenty minutes and the equipment sometimes did "beep" or "click click".
This treatment should, according to him, give quite quickly results. I have been there a few times, and of course it did totally nothing.
To my opinion this was one of the many legal scams that are available. And you did not even have to go into weird places.
