My nails have been really bad at times.
Crippling in fact..and very ugly.
For the past four years have eaten kiwi fruit and raw broccoli
Every day......seems to work wonders.

Any opinions on this......or other amazing fruit out there ?

Opinion ... Yes, other magic food, well there is a diet that should inforce the effect of medication if you use that.

Opinion, sure, it may very well be that certain food is advantageous. Psoriasis is an immune disease, a disturbance in the energy cycle of the cell. This energy cycle is fed by any food you consume, so there should be a connection. However there is no exact data on it.
There are several people that got rid of psoriasis by a diet, but quite an extreme diet.

Your information on kiwi and broccoli sounds good and is very valuable.
Thanks for sharing.

I must say if my current treatment didn't work I would try anything diet wise kiwi fruit.... Raw broccoli I'm not sure how much do you need to eat a day?
Is that as part of your diet? What do you have with it

I love my food and I would struggle on a strict regime. I love eating in restaurants far to much
But good luck to you

Hi Mark, I have been recommended by a natural therapist to eat a third of my diet as greens. Broccoli is a staple in our house. I was also told to keep away from kiwi fruit but I am glad it works for you.

I was told to only have one a week. I was told it could be a trigger for me. All nightshades were off the diet i.e. potatoes, tomatoes, egg plant and zucchini. I assumed kiwi fruit was the same. I must admit I found the limited fruits a trial and frustrating. I keep to lots of greens as it is a healthy option whether it helps my psoriasis or not. I have found the dieting advice a bit confusing. If it works for you that is great.

Lot's of lovely enjoyable fruits (and veg) out there for everyone to enjoy, as for fruit or any "Natural Cures" as you put it, No there is no natural cure!

Yes I agree eating some things can help and others can probably make it worse, but "A Cure" Nah just enjoy eating and drinking whatever you like as it helps make life more bearable than sticking to any specific thing and the worry of what you can and cant eat/drink. If it feels good and you believe in it then the placebo affect will kick in for a while, but long term I doubt it.

I once read years ago that rubbing pineapple skin on psoriasis will get rid of it, it was fun trying and did seem to work for a while until the real life kicked back in and I realised it was rubbish and expensive buying all those pineapples.

One should not consume nightshades according to those that believe, and I have spoken to people that say it works, but when you find out they still smoke tobacco and tell them it is a nightshade they disbelieve you. Rolleyes

Give me something like Stelara I can take with a small injection once every two months, or something like Fumaderm in a little pill to enjoy my life without worrying about what I'm eating or drinking everyday to get my life back.

If the natural approach was that good and simple we wouldn't have psoriasis or other autoimmune disorders and we wouldn't be here talking about it.

You asked for opinions. Smile

Fred goes off to find more Wine and a nice big fat Pork Pie.

Hi Fred.

Dont speak so lightly of Fumaderm. I dry reach at the thought of every dose of DMF I take, but compared with severe psoriasis and torturing myself with extreme diets it is nothing. I do avoid some foods like bread and dairy, but I relent sometimes because I like them, and eating such things gives me a measure of my disease. For example, last weekend I ate a heap of pizza and a block of white chocolate. It resulted in some stiffness and possibly a migraine. In times past with a severe disease, a few slices of toast or a few glasses of skim milk would result in a very painful arthritis. I still dont have the guts to drink skim milk, and I wont touch most breads, although the breadcrumbs I use to make meatloaf dont seem to do me any harm.

Cheers,

Bill
