Just wondering how people deal with the redness and soreness with psoriasis in the buttcrack. Do you use moisturizers or ointments or steroid creams? Having a terrible time down there.Blush

Hi Capeman and Welcome to the forum it's a very valid question and the only advice I can give is be very careful with steroid creams anywhere the sun don't shine ( in skin folds ) as this will I'm told thin the skin much quicker in these places
I would scour through the natural remedies and prescribed treatments a popular moisturiser is coconut oil, but there are many others
You will find here a wealth of knowledge and a bunch of friendly people with psoriasis in common, who are always ready to offer support to one another, do enjoy your time here and you will get some better answers than mine I'm sure, but a lot of members are European so may not be on as it's the middle of the night here
I'm glad you have found the off topic section please enjoy your time here.

The absorption rate in that area is to high for anything but the mildest steroids. If that doesn't work you might be able to use something like protpic for a longer duration.

I'm not the one to ask about natural treatments; the only thing I did natural was to stop wearing anything under my pants.

Light cotton underwear helps, Coconut Oil is very good as a moisturiser. I'm not sure where you are in the world or if you can get them but Silkis or Dexeryl are good.

But I wouldn't recommend steroid creams as it will thin the skin, which may not be good in the bum crack and could make it worse.

May not be the best of ideas, and may sound a bit odd. But if it's driving you nuts, try wedging a bag of frozen peas in there it will give you instant relief.
(I wouldn't recommend bunging the peas bag in the freezer after your done though) Big Grin

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.
