Very true Karl but it is a fact there is no cure for psoriasis, and yes there are a lot of sites that will take your money and sell you a cure....... But in reality if there was a cure I think it would have made the news by now and dermatologists would be prescribing it, I'm sorry but I think you are being sold a dream.....
There are many good regimes on this site you could read and save yourself a lot of money. As they mainly involve diet and lifestyle changes
Re phototherapy yes it's a quick fix for some the effects are long lasting for some not so, I think and all this is just one mans opinion, if you are suffering tell the dermatologist and ask for an alternative. Biological treatment....
I'll give it a rest for now I'm beginning to sound like I'm lecturing you, and that is not my intention

Hello Karl,

Welcome to the forum.

We are a nice bunch of people, we will try to say the things we think with respect for the others.
Sometimes that may sound a bit blunt or harsh, but be sure, that is not how it is ment.

Indeed I heard that phototherapy works. Have not had it myself. But indeed the effect is limited in the sense that it is coming back, the psoriasis, that is because psoriasis is an immune diseases it is not a skin condition.
Therefore using vitamin D is very good for you, and being in the sun is also very good.

If I were you, I would schedule down your expectations of the homeopathy. The homeopathy clinic is probably wrong. Over here on the forum we have not yet heard of someone that was cured by means of homeopathy.
Surely we hope for you that you will be the first one.
So come back and tell us how things are going. Come back anyway if your want to have a chat.

Cheers,
Caroline

Thanks for all the info CarolSmile

I honestly do not believe in homeopathy either, but the only reason I started this was because the topical steroid creams, the clobex spray did not work, Ive been using it since Feb 2014 and it only got worse since then. The derm mentioned that phototheraphy is the last treatment, since nothing else worked. I dont mind going for that, hell, I could book an appointment for tomorrow. Its just the side effects that worries me- skin ageing, sun burn etc etc which might be bad in the long run if I have to rely on this treatment for the rest of my life

I will continue to use the meds from the homeopathy clinic for a month hoping for a change. If nothing, then will definitely go for the light treatment. WIll let you know how it goes Wink

Jim, thanks for your info as well. I'm here for inputs so anything you say will be helpful and I really appreciate that. Smile

Hi Karl
Here I go again. I had phototherapy for a good portion of my life I'm 67 now but between ages 18 and 45 I had phototherapy most years. But then I was told I could not have any more. after that I had to go onto topicals and natural sun . Phototherapy is certainly worth a go. But your dermatologist has many other treatments he could offer, but they will go for the cheapest option first

Hi all!

I would like to let all of you know that I have started Phototherapy (Narrow UVB). I've had 3 sessions so far (26, 28, 31 seconds) I will be going for my fourth session today. Havent seen any changes yet, but the nurse mentioned that it takes 20-25 sessions to see some changes.

I know it sounds weird, but I havent given up on homoepathy yet, the lady at the clinic said it would take 3 months (its only been 1 month) for the meds to take effect.

Hopefuly something works out. I'll post a 'before' pic later today and maybe after my 10th phototherapy session I'll post another.

Good luck all!

Hi Karl
Yes it's early to see much change yet but I like the idea of before and after pics it will give you a record of the success and may encourage others to do the same.
There's no harm in using both therapies the only problem will come when you have to decide which one was effective.
Again I thank you for coming back and updating, Thumb
As the title of the club suggests we are more than just a forum we also post in off topic some of it serious most of it not so serious, it would be nice to see you across there where you will find I am the sensible one eek all are welcome to join in the banter and add to the enjoyment
