Is alcohol bad for psoriasis

Hello I always take alcohol or brandy for about 4 to 5 shots just to make me sleep every night. My question is its really worse my Psoriasis problem?

They say it can make it worse, though I don't believe it myself.

I like alcohol and did come off it once and went totally dry for a couple of months, it made no difference at all.

I personally don't drink very much but when I do have a few drinks I find that my P is much itchier and has a mini flare. There are many studies showing that alcohol consumption does affect certain skin conditions negatively, Eczema and Psoriasis being 2 of them.

Personally I'd be more worried about my internal organs if I was drinking as much and as frequently as you say you are.

I am 100% sure that alcohol has a negative effect on psoriasis, I've only got have a small amount and then my skin will burn.

My skin burns and itches when I drink. Besides, it makes you dehydrated.

Mine flares the day after I've been drinking if its more than a glass if wine. I reckon its cos it dehydrates you and skins already stupidly dry!

With me and alcohol, no problem at all.
Just the normal headache the following day if I drink too much, so I try to avoid that.

I think Jerry has a totally different problem. His drinking rate is quite high..

Makes no difference to my psoriasis if I drink.

Jerry I think 4-5 shots of brandy each day is a bit OTT and if you are using it to help you sleep, then you should try to solve your sleep problem another way.
