I will post a pic when I've finished it.
I had to find something to do that was distracting didn't need much brain power. Surprisingly I spent 5 hours on it last night and the time just flew. Took my mind off things.

Perhaps if Fred were to make one it might take his mind off his PSA as well
Then we could have 2 rugs in the members lounge.... I'm sorry they aren't trying to make life easy for you as if you didn't have enough to think about If I were closer I would be your hospital buddy

Not been a great last couple of days.
Am still raw ( feet ) and my backside is like a brillo pad. Started on my hands now. I sleep in dribs and drabs and it doesn't help being on this sofa bed. The mattress is as thin as a pancake. I have however organised the District Nurse to come and take my bloods every Wednesday. She came yesterday and was really nice. So nice in fact that she ordered me a commode. I was too gobsmacked to protest. It did get me thinking though if I could get an over bed table and perhaps a mattress topper on loan. Will ask her next week. I'm still batting away with my rag rug but having to wear plastic gloves over my hands does make it a bit trickier. Oh...and I've discovered the joy of Kindle books. Useful for when you are awake at 3am and need some distraction. Just trying to stay sane this time round. It's not easy. I have moments when I just want to burst into tears. Glad that I can just come on here and whinge away. It really does help.

Shame you are still feeling so bad
If you need things I would not wait until next week, just a phone call may well get things started . If you done T want the commode tell them there are things you need more , I'm sure they will be receptive They do supply these tables I, know because my wife has one for when we do her dialysis I'm not sure about mattress toppers but worth the ask . But I would do it now rather than wait another week I'm awake a lot at nights up to around 3am depending on my tiredness If you post anything here I will reply (if I'm awake ) just put something on the chatting thread in off topic if you like ..... You are not alone .

I don't know exactly what you mean by a commode Brighteyes, but I can try to imagine what it might be. Would an airmattras be something for you, where all forces are spread over your body?
Whinge away if you want to, we will be here with a listening ear.

You carry on and grumble Brighteyes, if it helps then Psoriasis Club is doing it's job.
We all feel so frustrated when we can't come up with a solution, but knowing we are helping makes everyone feel good. I tried sleeping pills from my GP for the first time ever this week, and I've had the best sleep for the past couple of months. So if you don't have them, it maybe worth giving it a try and as long as it's not a long-term solution a few hours of good kip go a long way. I don't know about what is available to you in the UK, but as they offered a commode there may be other things that could be available too so just ask your Nurse she will know. @Caroline a Commode is a chair with a place for a pot underneath it that you can use as a temporary toilet when moving is difficult, once used the pot can be emptied down the toilet and cleaned ready for next use. Some people have a stigma about them and they are sometimes looked at as something fumy, but when one is put in the position of having to use one they suddenly become something good. In fact some old ones are collected as pieces of antique furniture, just don't put you books in them though as they will fall on the floor.

Hadn't guessed that

Have requested a bed wedge, a pressure mattress and District Nurse is contacting OT to come visit. Made it to my Tuesday appointment but the pain was unbearable and I broke down. :(
The Derm Nurse took over and dressed my feet ( I now look like a Hobbit LOL). Have to say, I have been a bit more comfortable for the last couple of days. They've upped the MTX to 15mg which I have to take on Monday. I keep looking for signs of improvement. It's so slow and I am going nuts here. I am an avid book reader but have never read this many in such a short space of time. My rag rug is coming along ( although I do have to wear fingerless plastic gloves now ). The good news is that my O/H has been offered a job with the local council. Proper wage. So it has taken the pressure off me going back to work full time. And Family Fund have awarded us a grant for a short break this year. It's going to be much needed. Just need to keep counting my blessings ( and taking the Tramadol ).

I hope the methotrexate starts to give you relief soon, although you say you have been a bit more comfortable, perhaps it's staring to work ... 15mg is that six tablets? Or are you injecting it A glimmer of hope for you as the other half now has a job and taken one stress away. Enjoy planning the short break it may help to make you feel more positive ... Oh and of course the Tramadol will certainly help I have every thing crossed for you that you get relief soon |
