Hello from Finland

Hello,
I am a 50 year old dentist from Finland and I was recently diagnosed with plaque psoriasis. I got strong cortisone salves from my doctor and they have helped me a lot. I have rashes only on my arms, scalp and ears. I find skin conditions very unpleasant and that doesn't help me very much.

Yes Psoriasis can be unpleasant, but not as unpleasant as a visit to a Dentist! (Only Joking)

Have a good look around the forum and see what is working for others, but remember what works for some may not work for others. I always say to newly diagnosed patients, learn to accept it and live with it. You don't have to be covered in flakes and there are things that will help, but a positive attitude will help immensely. I also say don't waste your money on miracle cures, there is no cure.

Being here and sharing with others who understand will also help.

Nice to meet you and I hope that you find the forum helpful. You are getting some treatment that is working for you and that is a good start. But there are other things that help like sunshine (the best free treatment around), keeping your stress levels down (which I imagine could be tricky given your profession) and adopting a positive attitude.
