Hi everyone
Sorry I have not posted in months! So last time I posted, I had been very poorly with the side effects of Acitretin. I had no choice but to stop taking and luckily things eventually resolved themselves.
So 2 months ago and after refusing all other drugs I was offered Ortezla and I agreed. What can I say, it has been like a miracle! At the point of starting 3/4 of my body was covered in psoriasis, my joints were swollen, stiff and sore. I was told it was extremely aggressive and I was having to be covered in tar and bandages.
I sit here 2 months later and the only psoriasis that remains is just above my ankles and my feet and it continues to clear.
The only side effects have been nausea and an upset tummy, quite full on to begin with but is less as the weeks go by. For me this has been a wonder drug, with minimal side effects or should I say side effects that I can cope with. I cannot describe the difference this has made to my life! I no longer itch or flake. I require the minimum amount of creams ( just my old faithful epiderm and a minimal amount of diprosalic). For the first time in years I am able to wear a sleeveless dress.
My consultant has been amazing as she realised I had such a phobia around drugs and side effects, she has seen me regularly just for reassurance more than anything.
So I am going to say the advice that I was given on here which was to not give up, was the right advice. I am sorry I have not kept in touch but to be honest for many months I was all doom and gloom.
Hope you are all keeping well.
Sandra
