I was just reading Kat's post RE: Cosentyx - Kat's journey and it got me thinking.

Are there any of our members using Cosentyx that got completely clear and staying that way ?

For me it started off well, but now I find I still get the occasional flare up and have to resort to using some Diprosone with it. This usually happens if I get wound up about something, but I have also noticed it happens around week three.

What about you, anyone staying clear with just Cosentyx ?

I think that combining treatments is good disease management, Fred. When I started systemic treatment I was thrilled when I no longer needed to use messy topicals. Now I take the view that topical application works better in conjunction with systemic treatment, making the couple of spots I have more comfortable with minimal collateral damage.

Cheers

I find the diprosone is fine as it's a cream, but I hate the gel ones that make you feel all sticky like Enstilar.

Smokey tar ointment for me. It stays on the psoriasis behind my ears for many hours and stops it drying out. As the weather is cooler I am also sticking the ointment on a knee which I then occlude with cling wrap.

I have three small patches on my right leg just above my ankle that stubbornly refuses to go, I've been attending to it with Eluphrate cream.

Well as you know, it's not keeping me clear.

Currently I'm really trying to hold off on using the topical until my next appointment. I used the topical prior to starting Stelara and received good results, then when I went back to the derm (after being on Stelara) she credited the Stelara and I always felt uncertain on which helped the most (but neither cleared me)

Although I did use the topical a week or two ago, and it helped, I'm really hoping to not have to use it again until after my appointment as I want the derm to see how the Cosentyx is working without the added benefit of the topical.

I think it will be a combination for me, Cosentyx plus topical, as needed, but we'll see.

Interesting, it looks like I'm not the only one and Coentyx isn't as good as they keep saying it is for psoriasis 91

I find it's great for psoriatic arthritis though and that is my main aim.

Guess I will always need something as a back up for the odd bit of psoriasis.
