I've had Psoriasis since I was six (I'm now 49) and have never really looked for other people to talk to about it before despite the massive effect it has had on my life. I have been through ups and downs with it and I am lucky that although at times it has been bad, there are people around who have had it much worse than me. I think this is a fantastic idea as peer support and being able to connect with people who really get what you are talking about is so important. I don't know why I haven't looked into something like this before. I'm off to a holiday in the sunshine tomorrow, which really helps, but am looking forward to being part of the forum and hearing from others who 'get it'. Thanks
Hi Margot and a big to the club it is as you say a great place to come and meet others with the disease who know the problems and frustrations that only a sufferer can understand .....it is a life changing disease and is often looked on by doctors as not serious and just a rash ....we all know it's far more than that and are all happy to exchange experiences
This site is unique in that it is run by sufferers for sufferers and Fred who runs the show insists its free to use for all us members, there is no outside influence from pharmaceutical companies or any advertising ....so what you read is all genuine experiences .....or factual reporting of treatments
The site also has an off topic section where you can go if you want to get away from psoriasis or just want a chat there are many topics there including a chatting thread [Group Specific]
There are photo threads where we post photos of just about anything and a jokes section where you are advised not to go
I hope you have a great holiday and the sunshine helps your psoriasis, I look forward to hearing more about you and how you cope with psoriasis.
