Hello Justin to Psoriasis Club.
Your dermatologist is right "Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise, and throw some more on just for luck. I'm a great fan of Coconut Oil
Re Dovobet. Have a read of this thread and be careful with it: Dovobet And Dovonex (What's the difference ?)

It's not so much having psoriasis that's the problem, I can deal with the constant itch and soreness.....I think it's how I feel everyone looks at me, hear then talking etc. feel like a lepper! That's what really gets me down, I feel so unattractive to my wife I can't even remember when the last time she saw my psoriasis.
Friends who knock you for having psoriasis are not friends and not worth the bother, psoriasis can strike anyone at any time and they could be next.
Talk with your wife about it, it's important to have someone close who you can talk with. Show her the Psoriasis Club forum and get her to read through some of the threads, the more you talk about it the easier it gets. I think if you ask most on here they will tell you having an understanding partner is a huge help, and if your wife doesn't know or you hide it from her how can she help?

Don't go rushing into things. What works for some may not work for others, like Jim said talk with your dermatologist and mention it is affecting your quality of life they are better suited at finding something that works for you. Has your dermatologist done a Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) ? you can find more about it here: Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI)

Me about 35 years now and though like you I didn't like showing it, I found out that people don't notice as much as you think. And no it doesn't bother me now because if someone made a nasty comment I would tell them to sod off and get a life.

P Though to be honest I prefer to spell it out as it helps me live with it. Psoriasis is what it is and Psoriasis is what I've got. That's life.
Justin these are just my thoughts and we all have different ways of coping, but now you have found us just jump on in. You will find a small but friendly bunch who understand and are always willing to offer support.
Oh and nothing wrong with having a little cry about it, we've all been there mate.
Regards.
