to Psoriasis Club.
Is he seeing a GP about it? If he is then ask for a referral to a dermatologist. If not then he needs to see a GP first. A GP will probably prescribe Dovobet or Dovonex you can read more about them here: Dovobet And Dovonex (What's the difference ?) Those are usually the first step and they can help but it's not going to be a long term fix but it could be enough to be able to get on the beach and go swimming depending how bad the psoriasis is.
Unfortunately until he has tried the creams he may not get anything else, though it may be worth asking about light treatment (don't be tempted to go it alone on this as it's important to get it right) from his GP / Dermatologist. As he is an outdoor type that could be the best way to go in my opinion.
Others may have some other suggestions. But the sooner he gets to see a dermatologist the sooner he will be able to find something to manage it. *But there is no cure so tell him not to waste his money on any scams, there are a lot out there and they will only empty his wallet.
