Hi Evie,
I have been on Enbrel since September and have put on about a stone. I saw my consultant recently, and told me that this weight gain was as a result of the high doses of steroids that I have been on for the pain.
Whenever I have tried to reduce the steroids, the pain quickly increases, so it is important to find the right balance for you. Once you have done that, you have to wait with crossed fingers until you have a flare, and you need the extra steroids!
Do note that you must be careful when reducing steroids, as you must not suddenly stop. Talk to your doctor or nurse and they will advise on rate of reduction.
Good luck.
