Hello Tamsin and
We do understand and you will find talking about it to others does help. Don't worry what a man will think about your skin, if he says nasty things he is not worth knowing anyway. you will find there are genuine people out there who take you for what you are.
Re showing your skin in public try these tips I posted in this thread: Free Psoriasis Treatment

I'm sure you have heard it all before but I've found it really hard to cope with psoriasis and have generally quite low self esteem. I don't like to go out wearing clothes that show my spots of psoriasis. I have learned to cope with the fact I have it but still find showing it in public quite hard. And hence my single status, being worried about what men will say has put me off dating at the moment! Lol sounds rediculous now I'm telling someone!
I hope to make some friends here, it's always nice to talk to people who understand what it's like

If you’re not sure about exposing your skin, use long sleeved shirts with the arms rolled up, you can always pull them down quick. Same applies to trouser legs.
If you have long hair tie it back with a scrunchie, when someone comes nearby let your hair down. For short hair wear a sun hat to cover your scalp and take it off when no one’s around.
