Kat, I agree, they are mostly in the north.  Since I am addicted to Iced Cappuccinos, I was sooooo happy when I went to Syracuse to take a flight (was cheaper that leaving from Ottawa Canada) and I spotted a Timmies 

And Dave, have you been to the US?  US portions, maybe not Timmies or other big international chains who have the same size portions everywhere, tend to be a lot bigger in some places
