In talking with my new doc, she doesn't like her patients to be on diclofenac long term. She also didn't like me on cyclobenzaprine long term either. So yesterday, we agreed I would stop both. Diclofenac was the problem interacting with Methyltrexate. My derm prescribed 2.5 mg of MTX once a week along with folic acid to help with counteracting side effects of MTX. Wednesday is when I will be starting MTX. Although, I may wait until Monday so that my once a week meds will all be on the Monday. Less chances of a muck up that way.
I was also given a drug called Clobex (short for Clobetasol) as an interim helper for the flaking and inflammation. Anyone heard of this before? He gave me nothing for my face though. ARGHHH! Thank goodness I am learning more about makeup. I can't wait to look more normal, skin wise, even if it is a temporary mask. The makeup won't be to look prettier, but to look more average, and to hide my beard growth.
Just waiting for the nurse to get the blood test results before I start the MTX. Once she sees that, I am off to the races.
And I have my 3rd vax done. Hopefully that helps me and my immunocompromised system during the use of MTX.
