I have to dry mine with a Q-Tip after each shower or bath, but sometimes I had applied a very little over the counter (non-prescription) hydrocortisone on a Q-Tip and sometimes I've used a prescription anti-biotic ointment. Once I get it to quiet down, it usually stays minimal so long as I remember to dry it after bathing. Have you tried something similar? The cortisone (OTC) has zero effect on me in any spot on my body. The drying part is sounding great. When I take a bath, it soothes the itching everywhere. The bath water softens up the dry skin . Then I gently scrape out excess dead skin. It doesn't hurt that way, nor does it bleed.
