Welcome Mary!
There's not much more I can add to what's been said. Some people have had some luck with light therapy, some diet, others with ointments, oral meds, biologics. The good part is there is a lot available. When I first was diagnosed the doctor said they followed a certain formula in prescribing (mostly due to insurance requirements perhaps) which was topicals first, then light therapy, followed by oral meds and lastly biologics. Being in the US insurance can be an issue to some of the treatments, but there are usually different plans available and your doctor's office should be able to assist with that.
I am one who likes to use coconut oil to moisturize and found that it helps (very short term) with itching. No, it didn't cure anything nor even help reverse any effects but it did offer me some temporary relief! I also use an ointment that helps, but I use it sparingly.
There is a ton of info here and people willing to share their experiences, I'd take some of that info to my doctor and ask them about it.
Best of luck and hope you get relief soon!
