I dont want to be a scare monger, but I was told to under no uncertain terms to completely avoid any exposure to the sun as the risk of cancer is high while on MTX.
I took the chicken way out and stuck to the shade and when swimming wore a full sleeve rash vest. I'm not a big lover of sun creams.
When I did go into the sun I used a SPF50 cream that was 5star UVB.
Now I'm not an olive skin but I never burned throughout my adulthood. I always browned up quickly but did singe very easily on both MTX and Cyclosporine.
Sorry but my advice is keep to the shade or cover up.
Being miserable is better than getting cancer.
