I do agree that it is an expensive treatment plan, however, when I price Humira at $600-2700 per shot (I just looked at the canadian mail order pharmacies), and all my treatments and testing have cost just over $1700 it seems relative.
"HUMIRA helps to treat moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis by achieving 75% skin clearance.
HUMIRA can help relieve the symptoms of plaque psoriasis by giving you clearer skin.
In clinical trials, 7 out of 10 adults with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis who used HUMIRA saw 75% skin clearance, and the majority of people were clear or almost clear in just 4 months."
Do you have to continue Humira shots for the rest of your life to maintain your clearance?
Testing was $125 and treatments were $50 each. I saw improvement about 3 weeks in, but dramatic healing at about 2 months and almost clear by 2 1/2 months. I've always been against medications and if this hadn't worked, I would have probably caved and tried the research study. Luckily, I had selected the high-deductible plan at work and contributed the difference in premiums to an HSA which allowed me to pay for the treatments with pre-tax money. I have not paid anything outside of this account. In addition, my company also contributed to my account.
If I didn't see the dramatic improvement with my own eyes and felt the change within my body, I'd be skeptical as well. I agree, you should do your homework, but I put my experience out there to offer hope. I had psoriasis for 10 months with the worst of it lasting 5 months which is an incredibly short amount of time, but I cannot imagine living with this condition for years on end. I will probably take turmeric capsules for the rest of my life because of the health benefits. I will not need to do NAET treatments continually for the rest of my life, but I will go back if I have a flare up and treat any sensitivity that presents itself.
While it is true that Dr. Nambudripad does not have an MD license that is recognized in California, she does have acupuncture & chiropractic licenses that are. As far as the applied kinesiology for testing, you have to do what you feel comfortable with. I'm very comfortable with this form of testing. I have always had more success with my health through alternative means than I have ever had with western medicine. Of course, medical associations are going to advise against alternative treatments, I was very surprised that a staff member from the dermatology office I went to actually referred me to this treatment. I take no maintenence prescriptions and rarely, if ever, take an antibiotic.
