So during the week I have tried tomato catsup 3 times and tomato salsa (last night) without causing any flaring. Tomatoes were a major trigger for my plaque psoriasis, so this is very promising and possibly indicates that my 17 months of working on healing my gut lining may have produced some results.
I am going to continue to take marshmallow root, drink bone broth, take proteolytic enzymes, vitamins and minerals as maintenance. I am not going to push ingestion of trigger foods, just occasionally enjoy having them back in my diet, and paying close attention to how my body reacts. I am also going to not ingest things that could re-compromise my gut lining, like pharmaceutical drugs, over the counter pain killers, antibiotics, hormones, pesticides/herbicides, heavy metals (seafood). I am going to continue to eat non-GMO, organic when possible, low sugar, no/low processed foods, hormone/antibiotic/nitrate/nitrite free/uncured meat when possible. I am also going to continue to eat anti-fungal foods and probiotic foods (coconut yogurt, kombucha)/take probiotics, at different times daily to support the gut biome. I am going to keep the alcohol consumption to a minimum (2 shots max every 2 weeks ( I used to be a heavy drinker (4-5 nights a week 4-5 drinks!)).
In my opinion drinking alcohol, birth control pills (20 years), antibiotics taken daily for acne (for 10+ years), taking Aleve for headaches and eating GMO/processed foods full of chemicals (MSG), antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, herbicides and heavy metals compromised my gut lining.
Thanks for your support and I hope my sharing of my experience can help others with their psoriasis.
I will keep you updated if something arises .
Best of luck to everyone in finding answers and help with your journey.
