Yes, the flush is a small drawback..... or not.... we have had a Psoriasis patient over here in the Netherlands who also came over his Meunières disease because of the site effect of DMF regarding flushing.
It may feel a bit uncomfortable in the beginning, but you will get used to it and it is totally harmless.
The most inconvenient thing may be the intestine cramps.
The most dangerous thing, but very undangerous when regularly measured, is the lowering of the Lymphocytes. Therefore:
- slow build up
- intermittent use of the drug, it is better to use it 5 days a week and skip the weekend. (Almost no dermatologist knows this, but it has been suggested to the patients over here in NL for already 30 years by the doctor who was the motor with the introduction of DMF).
