Fred, it's the sticky feeling why I recommend to use special clothes and/or bandage-like stuff to cover up the applied area's. Not only does it work better that way, but you also don't have to deal with feeling like a giant gluestick. I also think that's why it doesn't work ass well on some area's of the body, especially when it's a part that is covered by clothes, it get's wiped away or sucked up before it can even do a thing.
Enstilar was the one and only ointment that I could apply easily AND moisturized the skin a fair bit. I think dermatologists should also prescribe the right suite/bandage things when prescribing creams/lotions/ointments etc.
