What relevance does the protein C reactive have is that an indicator for psoriasis? Or arthritis? .......it's good to see it so low but wondered what it meant, and what you did to get it down?
Thank you Jim.
I'm no expert but Proteine C Reactive is a sign of inflammation. I have always noticed the higher it is the worse the psoriatic arthritis is. I'm not sure how other countries work out the figures, but here lower than a 5 is what the average person needs. It's something they always look at when I talk to them and mention the psoriatic arthritis.
When the psoriatic arthritis is bad it goes above 5 and often above 10 or even higher if really bad. So having < 1 is very good.
*It may also relate to psoriasis as that is an inflammation of the skin, but like I say I'm no expert. All I know is when it's high I feel bad and when it's low I feel good.
As for what did I do to get it down: It's the Cosentyx that is doing it, I've never managed to get it down by my own means. Stelara used to keep it down to around the 8 - 12 mark, high but I got used to it. But now thanks to Cosentyx I'm probably on par with someone without psoriatic arthritis.
