Yes c--reactive protein is good indicator of inflammation, and yes I would imagine it is a shock for you. But the good news is that there are treatments today that will soon sort it out. Bill mentioned Cosentyx (secukinumab) it's the best thing that ever happened to me for psoriatic arthritis and evidence is showing if treated at early onset there is a good chance it can give long term clearance.
People never do understand the pain that psoriatic arthritis can give, but those of here with it can fully understand. But you won't end up in a wheelchair I'm 99.9% certain of that, and if you did it would be short lived as like I say there are some great treatments today and even more on the horizon.
Keep your chin up at least you are getting treated and that is important.
