I'll admit that it was a bit worrisome for me. I did the UV and my dermatologist even suggested -after it ended- I either a) continue by getting out in the sun or b) use a tanning bed. It's not often a dermatologist tells you that. For me, I grew up getting tanned in the summertime as I lived outdoors (not much on tv at the time and no video games, computers, etc) Skin cancer wasn't mentioned much back then. I think it's an individual thing, if your family has a history or if very fair skinned, the risks would be higher for instance. In some cases, UV light or the sun may be less of a risk than some medications. So although it's something to be cautious about and try not to burn the skin, I plan on getting some wonderful sun this summer. My vitamin D is always low so I have to take supplements, I'm also hoping a bit of sunshine will help with that.
