I am suppose to inject the Stelara on Saturday but I have a bad chest infection as well so I spoke to the Dermatologist who said that on my next appointment on the 14th of March he would be quite willing to prescribe Cosentyx as I now have patches of P starting all over the place plus the PsA is not good though I have not got the MRI scan results back yet as I was in bed with the flu but have rebooked it for next week.
Oh Mate. The Man Flu
I would suggest holding off with the Stelara whilst you have a chest infection. But I'm wondering Dave if he is saying he will prescribe Coesntyx on 14 March you could go without your next shot of Stelara. That way you will be able to go straight on it, but if you take the Stelara shot you will have to wait 12 weeks from taking it.
I personally would miss the Stelara shot as it will get you on Coesntyx quicker.
If you miss this week because of the chest infection (which I would do) that means you will take Stelara on the 11 Feb. That takes you through till 6 May.
Stop now and you will be on Cosentyx in 5ish weeks instead of 13. I don't think a loss of Stelara for 5 weeks would cause much problem, but only you can decide if you can go 5 weeks without.
Good luck Dave and get well soon.
