As you can see we are not keen on using that word on Psoriasis Club. We have seen it so many times on here and 99% of the time it is used by people that I have to throw out of the door. Don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting for one minute that is what I will have to do with you, and I fully understand what you are trying to do.
But Bill is right to use that tone in his reply and if it was indeed that simple none of us would be here talking about psoriasis.
Indeed it may have worked for a small patch, but you are very lucky to only have a small patch that a drop of coconut oil and calamine can help with. However it is not a cure and what you are suggesting to use would not help probably 99% of people with psoriasis. Psoriasis comes in various different forms and is very difficult to treat, also it can be as small as the size of a pea to total body coverage.
I have experienced full body coverage and also suffered severely with psoriatic arthritis and I can assure you that your Cure would not work for me.
I do hope you continue to cure manage your tiny patch of psoriasis with some moisturiser, and indeed you could be one of the lucky ones. But please don't make it sound like you have an answer to the 99% of people with psoriasis that have lived with it for years and experience sever pain, discomfort and in some cases very bad depression.
*The more I look at threads in this section, the more I think it should be moved to the members only boards as I would hate to think our guests are following some of the stuff in this section.
Even Alan's thread How I Cured My Psoriasis By Diet has a long way to go to convince me, but he is backing up what he is saying and keeping updates. (I only say a long way to go because he has not had psoriasis very long)
Hi Fred
With hindsight, maybe cure was a bit premature for my post title. Kat and Bill have both alluded to this. Thanks to you all for your patience in humouring my enthusiasm. Seriously. I do hope that I am demonstrating something that comes close to a cure, I feel that I am cured or damn near cured. At worst I've now got very good management of the disease. But if I've learned anything about psoriasis over the last year and a half, it is that complacency is not an option with it. I truly hope that I've got it licked but as you point out, it's early days. I hope that I don't have any set backs. It certainly isn't the sort of chronic problem which can be taken lightly. The more we can all share our own experiences the better. The only reason I've posted here is to share my experience of it and also because your board was a source of information for identifying my current course of action and treatment of choice i.e. diet.
, great to read your improvement. I too tried all sorts of creams and oils, none of which helped me. Just goes to show psoriaisis isn't a one size fits all problem I guess.
