don't laugh but banana peels also work...they can reduce inflammation and restore the skin back to its normal condition..

EDIT by Fred: This thread is made up of posts taken from the Baking soda for psoriasis thread which had gone off topic.

When I was younger and using Dermovate which was quite effective, I used to rub my elbows with banana skins, which never made my skin any worse or any better. It's possible there may be some good to be had from the skins unfortunately my dermatologist laughed me out of the clinic when I told her

What a weird dermatologist... Doesn't she know that lots of medication comes from plants and perhaps also fruits ?
Bit limited minded?

Every time I used to see her I asked if a cure had been found and I always had a news cutting of some "cure" she always told me that if these miracle cures worked she would be prescribing them as things like banana skins were cheaper than steroid creams

Only fools can laugh or a weird dermatologist. Science till date has not found any remedy for psoriasis. In India lot of plants medicine is there but they need strict diet, which makes use of Ayurveda tough.

I shall try banana banana peels also. I just want to get rid of it.

I may be wrong but for some reason I think that is an ingredient in exorex lotion?!?!

Not sure I could cope taping a load of bananas to me, but I've heard Kiwi fruit on the skin may also help?!!?

Maybe a bath in banana and kiwi smoothie Big Grin

I say if its natural its worth a shot

Exorex:

Active ingredient is coal tar solution 5% v/w.

List of excipients:
dl-Alpha tocopherol
Vitamin F ethyl ester
Xanthan gum
Propyl hydroxybenzoate (E216)
Methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218)
Hydrogenated polyoxyl castor oil
Purified water

E216 & E218 are parabens see here: Parabens what I found out ! Confused

Sorry couldn't find Banana though Ethylene is used to ripen bananas so you could be thinking of that. Smile

I was a volunteer at a local National Park (Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge)
in NYC (Queens).

I would help with clearing out invasive species and planting natives.

I came down with a wicked case of Poison Ivy.

Read about Banana peel relieving itch - tried it

IT WORKED ! - just temporary relief but I sure was happy.
Had my wife eating plenty of Bananas one week.
