Ixekizumab trial

when I started the trial I was clinically measured at 22% coverage that was most areas of my body with some level of scaling upper body and legs being the worst although i did not see any exact measurements being taken i.e. the using of a ruler etc. I did ask how the percentage was worked out, I was told that an EXACT measurement would be almost impossible due to differing sizes of - body mass, patches of scaling and different stages of development of scaling. So a rule of thumb is used , one open hand = 1% coverage, when last assessed I was measured as being 1% that included the odd very small spot of scale but mostly dry patches of skin, it has now been over a month since my last injection and I am still in that 1% bracket I think although the Dr expects a return to wide scale coverage around 12 weeks.

Have you struggled with psoriasis for long before the trial and were you usually well covered and did anything else work as well as Talz ?

No worries, Dave. 18% for each leg, 9% each for arms and head, and 36% for the torso. Yes, only adds up to 99%! So rather than counting hand prints (1%), you might assess the percentage of each body segment covered to make an estimation of the total coverage. Is this what you wanted?

I never really thought about it until you mentioned it Bill , I must have been not far off 100% the last time in hospital.

Hi Tom since coming off the Taltz trial have they managed to switch you to cosentyx or something else yet ?

Having a new member join who is on Talz prompted me to enquire

Bill it's standardized terminology used by all clinical trials. Kind of annoying to be honest. There is Clinical Remission and Real Remission. Not sure on the numbers though.

Due to see the doc on Tues, I have had a slow but steady return to scaling all be it not to the severe extent prior to starting the trial but hopefully enough to warrant a move top an other medication, fingers crossed.

I hope you get Cosentyx as that targets the same cells as Taltz ......I hope what ever you get puts you back on the road to clearance Tom
