Welcome to the English language, Caroline. I think the PML victims were extremely unlucky, but their tragedy leaves me in no mood for flippancy or complacency. I am pretty sure that I will need to return to one or two doses a week of DMF, but I dont want to start until I have fully recovered. The cysteine has been very good at keeping the disease static and the redness away, but the flush I get from the DMF gives me the feeling of the disease being washed away. Overall I am sure I felt better on the DMF (aside from the kick in the guts side effect). Maybe it is just psychological?

Cheers,

Bill

<the answer given was ' too expensive ' and you have to have pretty bad P to be given Biologics, due to this cost.

Fair enough !>

What? "Fair enough !" that you are getting done over and denied effective treatment because of the criminal association between government officials and big pharma? You are lucky you fared so well on MTX. A friend's Mum has been through hell with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma as a direct result of her mtx therapy. She is now terminally ill.

If you want to smile while you are being done over, well that is your choice, but dont kid yourself that there is no unnecessary death and suffering as a result of the criminal behaviour of government officials who prefer to pocket bribes than serve the public interest. If you want to see what happens when everyone plays that game then look at Africa.

Re your own drug regime you are already maxed out on Fumaderm, so try to reduce your dosage by using topicals like calcipotriol, and perhaps even follow my lead and give cysteine a go, though be aware that it is acidic and could erode your teeth if you are careless with it.

You will find the members of the forum interested in helping you with their knowledge and experience. No one here will try to rip you off or deceive you, and members that have tried such  things in the past have been unceremoniously booted out.

Cheers,

Bill

The alternative is back on MTX till clear, then back on Fuma to help maintain.

Fuma just isnt getting me over the last hurdle.  Seems  Fuma is fabulous for Plaque, since i have none at all anymore, but Fuma is weak on the tougher inverse P

MTX is the ONLY medicine that has ever cleared me.

I'm not bothered about flushing NHS  money down the drain.  The poor upper management of the NHS have been systematically hemorrhaging more money from the NHS piggy bank than i ever could

They also had the chance to prescribe me Biologics, but refused when i asked

Ok, if powdered DMF is a bit risky, how do i get hold of Cysteine ?

Is it something my Dermo Consultant can prescribe ?   I suppose you know the Fuma is not recognised in the UK, which is why i cannot get the Dermo to give my local GP to put it on prescription, so i can pick it up every 3 months from the GP / Doctor.  It would be very convenient , because my local surgery is opposite where i live.

But i have to have all my Fuma direct from the Dermo hospitals' own pharmacy, because Fuma is not recognised. Thats a  40 mile round trip taking 1 hour,  plus hospitial parking fee, plus about 2 hours waiting.

If like Fuma, Cysteine is not available on local surgery prescription,  but ok from my Demo consultant, then since i already have the trouble of the travel i mentioned, it will be no big deal to collect Cysteine at the same time

I am with you 100% re the anti-parasite sentiment, Bassman. Cysteine is an amino acid made from hair clippings and feathers (Yuk! It really is.) and is legally available. I got mine from fleabay ($12-50 for 250g including postage, so it is very cheap). 1 gram twice a day seems to work for me. 7 grams or more a day is toxic, so dont go there.

My own treatment is free of any subsidy, yet I pay a pittance for it. My understanding is that government pays about 20 times more for pharmaceuticals than they need to. In Australia, the government is an impediment to my access to DMF. I have nothing but contempt for the useless sods.

Cheers,

Bill

Good speech Bill       Cool

Regarding Cysteine purchase,  i have found some on Ebay UK,  30 caps, 500mg each,  £8  GBP

Is that a decent price? We have to bear in mind we are in different countries, and a bargain in Aus may not be a bargain here

Would you take a look at these Ebay cysteine sales Bill, and see if i'm on the right track ? Thanks

£8 / 30 caps / 500mmg

Things are getting a bit confusing.  Should i be looking for pure Cysteine, if it exists in pure form ?

Too expensive. I bought mine as a powder and I measure it out using drug scales I bought for my DMF. You can get cysteine either from body building suppliers, or as you have observed as n-acetyl cysteine from chemists or vitamin shops. The study I read online used non-denatured whey protein, which is rich in cysteine. Hope it works for you, but uncertainty is an unfortunate part of psoriasis.

Cheers,

Bill

Whey ?  I thought Cysteine was supposed to be made of hair ?

I have to buy tablets Bill, as i have no scales

Bear in mind things are probably just more expensive here, so which of those tablets should i be looking at ?  They all seem to have the word Cysteine on the bottle

This may be the cheapest ..
