2 per day Bill, would only be 1 gram total.  Are you saying  perhaps start easy and then go up to 2 grams per day like your self ?

As i say,  if they work as well on me as they did for you, then i would only be buying those expensive caps once, then i'd go  for buying scales and powder  like yourself.  I want to see if they actually work first. We are all different and they may do nothing

Two capsules twice a day, so 2 grams total. Yes, they may do zip for your psoriasis, but powder and precision scales would cost less than $20 AU for the equivalent of 500 capsules, compared with $30 AU for 100 capsules.

Cheers,

Bill

I guess it wouldn't hurt to go straight for powder  ... £15.56 for 500G on UK Ebay...  plus scales around £4, which at your rate of 2G per day, would last me
250 days

Its 200 ( not 100 )  capsules for £21 would last me 25 days @ 4 caps per day ( 2G )

Your reasoning makes sense Bill  - even if the stuff didnt work and i never bought Cysteine again, i would be £2 better off, because the powder and scales together still cost less than the 200 caps, but i would have a set of scales  to keep at the very least

So, powder and scales it is !

After all that consideration it had better do something for you.

Cheers,

Bill

Like anything with P, there's no guarantees, something i've been fully aware of over the last 25 years.  Suck it and see. If it doesnt work i'm no worse off,  just a few bucks lighter.

Next will be to go back on MTX, get clear and get back on Fuma and hope it can be used as maintenance

Bassman,
Fred removes the links to other psoriasis sites or to specific products.
Not all links though are removed. E.g. You can place a link to a YouTube of a song or something. It will not work as a real link, but you know the process of copy and paste.

Normally you can send real links through the PM system.
BUT.... Please do keep the discussion like above with Bill, in the open, as we all can learn from that discussion and from the experiences.

Bill states that DMF is potentially harmful, which it is, there is a risk of too low lymphocytes if you are unlucky and these become too low, which can lead to PML, what you certainly don't want to have.
The reduction of lymphocyte count is seen in the beginning of the treatment, with most of the people this will return to normal levels, like Jim. Mine is by the way still on the edge, but I observe myself very well and I am hardly ill, only about two times a year a have bit of a flu, but way less than e.g. my colleagues, and real influenza I have rather seldom.

If you compare DMF, with 3 known cases of PML, to MTX with hundreds of cases of PML, I personally think that DMF is way preferable to MTX, regarding also the fact that the last one is pure poison.

Thanks Caroline re. links

Ok, at the moment i'm going to try the  Cysteine route  ( 1g  morning 1g evening in addition to my 6 x 120 mg Fuma )  for  2 or 3 months or more.  If i get no joy what so ever from this Cysteine, i then have the choice of going back on MTX  and as soon as clear, back on Fuma. This has already been discussed with my Derm Consultant last time  ( August )

The other choice is forget MTX and try Bill's  DMF powder.  I wont have to monitor my own bloods, because i will still be on Fuma, and all the time i'm on Fuma, the UK NHS insist i have regular blood tests, so unlike Bill, i will not have that hassle.  All i will have to do is accurately measure the DMF powder, as Bill does.

I have already ordered the jewellers scales that measure 1/10th gram  up to 1000 gram, for taking the Cysteine powder i have also ordered, so that should be way good enough to measure DMF, should i try going down that route

Cysteine powder and scales should be here in a about 7 - 9 days

Very interesting to read that you are going along the Bill-road. I must say that that is my backup route, or escape plan, when it ever would go wrong with the delivery of my medication.
Keep us posted Smile
