hi every fellow sufferer i have come to realise that creams and moisterises wont cure psoriasis the cure must come from within with that in mind i recently had a bad flare up which affected my body and face i realised i had eaten a lot of biscuits and bread so i decided to give up eating anything which contains wheat let me tell you its in nearly everything so i am carefull to read the ingrediants.
i also have a nutri bullet its a smoothie maker so every day i have one which includes fresh banana and carrot, frozen spinach because its eaier to keep fresh and green vedgtables are very good for the skin also frozen fruits like strawberrys, blueberrys ect.
i avoid drinking tap water because of the flouride i noticed since only using bottled water in my kettle the element is still like new wow since i started this diet about two weeks my psoriasis has faded i no longer have it on my face and i look healthy,it just goes to show i must be doing something right its not difficult the nutri bullet did cost me about £100 but its the best £100 ive ever spent apart from the £130 i paid for my guitar.
so if anyone wants to give it a go the worst thing that can happen is you might loose some weght which in my case is welcome as i weigh 17 stone
i just hope i can help a fellow sufferer god bless dougie

Hi Dougie and   Welcome to the forum, here we are always glad to hear what's working for members and are always keen to hear of others successes. Do make yourself comfortable here, because like your diet a positive environment is also a help to psoriasis. You couldn't have found a more positive forum to join. We are a small bunch of sufferers, who are enjoying the company of other sufferers without the fear of being spammed ( it's not tolerated here) there is also no advertising. So all you will find here is genuine people happy to share their experience
Thank you for sharing yours with us. It sounds simple and good, what do you do for other meals or is it just smoothies?

It's far to strict for me I would have to give up too much I like . But I wish you every success and I'm sure others will pick up what you are doing, and may give it a try

I hope you will keep us updated on your progress, good or bad it will help others.

Meantime enjoy the forum there are some good natural treatments here. Non are scams.
If you have a few minutes to spare and want to get away from psoriasis we have an active off topic board, hope to see more of you  Thumb
Jim

hi jim its nice to talk to fellow sufferers, you say you would have to give up too much but dont you think it would be worth it to have clear skin and there is plenty of alternatives although i do miss having a sandwich or roll but then i remember it agrovates my ps you asked what else i eat well i make a pot of food that i call mele it consists of mushrooms onion chili garlic sweet potatoe chick peas and corn which i have salad and chicken breast this lasts about 3-4 days my son works nights at the emerates stadium he takes my mele he has it with brown rice and tuna he is a vegitarian, there is still a lot of other things to eat just no wheat
i think the problem with wheat is it has been geneticley modified check it out on youtube let me know what you think

I appreciate what you say Dougie but it's not for me at the moment, I'm very happy with the treatment I'm on, which before I started in I was fairly bad ... I have now had 4 years clear with Fumaderm my current treatment, I am 68 and have suffered since I was 17 and have never had such a long clear period in all my adult life. So I'm sure you will understand if I don't jump onto your regime.
But that won't stop me from following your progress with great interest.... Who knows what the future holds

Surely wheat has been genetically modified!
Monsanto has made a Billions company out of selling the Genetically modified stuff together with the accompaniing poison called RoundUp.

Yes Caroline Dougie is saying that wheat is genetically modified . That's one reason he won't eat it  Confused

edit by Jim
I think I read this wrong Caroline when you say "surely " you are agreeing...... it's a language thing probably as you are non native English speaker I have misunderstood  Confused

Hi Dougie and a warm welcome.

I always suspected that diet had a huge impact on psoriasis, I am not sure if there is any clinical trial but there is a lot of anecdotal evidence. Good that its working for you.

I think a lot of sufferers are happy to have some respite rather than an out and out cure as we know how mentally and often physically trying psoriasis can be.

Personally I am like Jim and I feel it would mean me either giving up too much or a huge amount of trial and error, just cutting out wheat and processed sugars takes about 50% of the things I do eat off the table. Spicy foods, well I simply would struggle to give up curries etc. However, i feel part of that is the journey discovering what  I would need to forego.

Keep us informed as it is very interesting especially as it is a more natural approach than drugs so in many ways must be better for you and I am sure you feel healthier in general.

hi pingu thanks for the welcome  Smile i think its like everything else if there is a natural cure they wouldnt want us to know about it so its up to the sufferers to experiment and hopefully find one,a prime example is cancer rick simpson discovered that cannabis oil can cure certain cancers so you would think it would be made available  NoNo the only problem is the pharmacuticals would lose billions if you could grow your own cure, its proberly the same with psoriasis no more creams billions lost.
who knows all i know is my skin is improving anyway nice to meet you Wink
